It is good to experience climbing the rocking horse and there is a decent view from the top however.

We stopped in on the way from Birdwood to check out the park again as I hadn't been in years. First of all when we went to the shop, the workers were complaining about a customer who wasn't happy about the animals. It was quite sad to see the condition of the animals and the animal park. When we went out to the wildlife area, a pretty slim kangaroo came over to us for food. The area has no greenery in reach of the animals, just bark / dirt. There was fresh grass outside of the fence that I was tempted to pick for them. The cockatoos in the aviary at the back of the park looked so bored, there was no mental stimulation or toys for them, the only wooden perches they had looked old and worn, they didn't even have a box or hideout. Their seed could've been refilled, as they were very happy when I offered them some pellets. If I could I'd even put some kind of straw in the bottom in the cage. I don't know how long since the duck ponds have been cleaned out, they were so green and disgusting, the pond should be cleaned and refilled with fresh water.

To be honest it was fun to see the animals and get to hand feed the sheep and kangaroos. I can see how it is fun for young ones to get to interact with animals, but there could be more care thought into the animals. It seemed a lot better when I went there years ago, today wasn't even a busy day so someone could be out cleaning it up a bit. Seems to me like it's all just for the money now.

Remember the simple toys before ipads? This is where you'd get to go back to those times. Take the opportunity to feed kangaroos, ducks, sheep and alpacas at the mini zoo.

Everybody should experience the climb to the top of the big rocking horse. Also has a pretty cool 'park' with a few different types of animals in it.
